FEBRUARY 15, 2024 | ASA AWA SPARKLING WINE


We invite you to experience our award-winning sparkling wine, Asa Awa! We crafted this wine as a tribute to our founder Kesao Fukae’s home culture, to long-standing Japanese tradition, and to modern-day California innovation. The name itself means ‘sparkling’ and ‘effervescent’ and links to the Japanese tradition of serving sparkling wine in the morning to guests at exclusive hotels and inns to awaken the senses and to inspire rejuvenation. Earning Gold with 91 Points at the Toast of the Coast Wine Competition, Asa Awa is a shining example of world-class sparkling wine that allows us to share this cultural experience with you.

From the SummerWood estate in Paso Robles, this sparkling wine is made from the estate-grown Grenache Blanc. Asa Awa displays exuberant notes of honeysuckle, ripe Asian pear, and sparkling citrus zest. Asa Awa is perfect on its own as an afternoon aperitif, and it shines just as brightly when paired with oysters, sushi, fresh seafood, or roasted chicken. It invites you to slow down and reflect on the bounty around us in the magnificent Central Coast. 

At SummerWood, we embrace the Japanese concept of omotenashi, which loosely translates to ‘hospitality.’ Omotenashi is both a way of life and an art form that ensures guests enjoy a relaxing, entertaining, and memorable experience. Our Asa Awa is omotenashi in a glass as we bring this slice of Japanese culture from our home of Osaka to you here on the Central Coast. Celebrate the wines of Paso Robles at our picturesque tasting room. We’ll be releasing our 2017 Rosé and offering case specials all weekend.

Saturday, May 19:  WOOD-FIRED PIZZA. Farmstead Catering will be onsite serving up piping hot pizza from their wood-burning oven. Treat yourself to a fun day of wine and pizza on our charming back patio. Serving from 12pm to 4pm. COMPLIMENTARY for our guests!

Spring releases are here! This May you’ll receive our 2015 reds as well as whites from the ’15 and ’16 vintages.  The 2015 vintage came at the peak of the historic California drought which yielded beautiful wines with intense flavors!

 
—Release Schedule:
May 9th     – customization deadline.
May 10th   – cards on file will be charged for active members.
May 18th   - pickup orders ready in the tasting room. 
May 21st   – shipments go out to those who are not picking up.
